AdGooroo recently released a search advertising report. Most of the statistics came as no surprise; Google seems to be doing quite well and Yahoo's not. However, there are a few noteworthy changes are with regards to Bing.

AdGooroo's report reads, "For the year ending June 2009, Bing appears to have grown its advertiser base by about 35%." Bing's top 25 list includes an impressive compilation of advertisers with giant's like Dell, Edmunds, Home Depot, and Sears.

Google was able to grow its already large advertiser base by 52 percent - the report explains, "Bing is tempting many established pay-per-click advertisers to taste their service." and "it may simply be that Microsoft is executing a two-stage strategy; the first stage being to grow their audience, and only after that, to focus on recruiting advertisers . . ."

Bing displayed 24 percent fewer first-page ads in June than Microsoft's did in March, a sure fire sign Bing may be making progress with regards to ad relevance. (A detail that supports the two-stage theory.)

The next couple of quarters should be pretty interesting, as Bing tries its hardest to establish an advertising foothold against the industry giants (and much more successful) Google and Yahoo.
