According to a new report released today, if someone finds a link they'd like to share, Facebook will more than likely be where they choose to do it. The new report shows users chose to share links on Facebook over email,Delicious,Digg, Twitter and everything else.
AddToAny, a company that makes a content-sharing widget with the same name, studied the social habits of global Internet and discovered that a whopping 24% prefer to share or publish their links of interest on Facebook. Email, the second most popular choice, was far behind at only 11.1% The findings of this study obviously places Facebook in a position of great importance.
After Email there is Twitter, which only garnered 10.8 percent of the users in the company's study. Given Twitter's relatively young age, it's intriguing to see the company in a photo finish with Email, which is so much older. One can only assume Twitter will soon be passing Email in the rankings.
Bringing up the rear we have Yahoo Bookmarks (5.5%), MySpace (5.0), Windows Live (4.7), Delicious (4.5), and Digg getting put to shame with only (4.4%).
